June 29, 2009

Champaign County Sheriff's Office investigators are seeking information regarding several motor vehicle burglaries that occurred in St. Joseph.

During the overnight hours of Saturday, June 20th, ten unlocked vehicles were reported as having been entered and their contents rummaged through. Items were taken from inside some of the vehicles, but not all.

The burglaries occurred in the Crestlake Subdivision, primarily in the following areas:

East Grand Avenue
North Cedar Street
Birch Court
Holzem Court

The Champaign County Sheriff's Office reminds residents to secure their vehicles, and not to leave expensive and easily carried items in plain view inside unattended vehicles.

Call 9-1-1 to report any in-progress suspicious activity.

The information you provide is confidential. You do not have to give your name or appear in court. CrimeStoppers will pay a reward if the information you provide leads to an arrest for this crime. Cash rewards are also paid for information on other felony crimes or fugitives in the Champaign County area.
